This Earth Day, students gathered in front of South Dining Hall on Notre Dame's campus to support the goals of Fossil Free ND, a movement that is putting pressure on the university to divest from fossil fuel corporations and re-invest in socially and environmentally responsible funds. The group froze, stood still outside the dining hall holding signs, for 9 minutes in protest of Notre Dame's investment in fossil fuel corporations. Fossil Free ND joins a global movement that is encouraging divestment under the logic that if it is wrong to contribute to climate change and climate wreckage, then it is wrong to profit from that wreckage.
